Will a discharge letter be issued to an inmate when he/she is released from prisons?

Yes, a Discharge Letter will be issued to all Singaporeans and Singaporean PR upon their release.

Non-Singaporeans may request for one if needed.

The inmates are advised to retain the Discharge Letter and make copies of it, as the document may be required as proof of their incarceration by other agencies or organisations.
