Will training be provided for newly appointed Prison Officers?

As a new entrant officer, you will be required to undergo a comprehensive training programme.

Senior Prison Officer candidates will complete a 38-week course, whilst Prison Officer candidates will undertake a 30-week course.

Both programmes comprise a residential phase at the Home Team Academy and on-the-job training at one of the prison institutions.
