What are the criteria to be a Mandatory Medical Ethics (MME) CME provider?
SMC-approved CME providers with an interest to offer MME CME programmes should fulfil the following (but not limited to) key criteria:
1. The applicant should be an accredited SMC CME provider.
2. The proposed MME CME programme should follow the contents of the approved MME curriculum.
3. The applicant should offer MME programmes in Category 1B (local events) and/or Category 3B (online distance learning programmes).
4. The target audience should be primarily healthcare professionals, with at least 15 doctors in attendance
5. The duration of Category 1B event should be at least 1 hour and there should be at least four MME events organised per year.
6. For Cat 3B programmes, a minimum of four modules of online learning should be provided per year.
Events organised by pharmaceutical / commercial companies will not be accredited. Overseas bodies will also not qualify to be a local MME CME provider.
