The Training Provider insists that I pay cash up-front for a course that is eligible for SkillsFuture Credit (SFC). Is this allowed?

No. Individuals have the sole discretion to decide whether to use SFC to offset the payment for the course. TPs are not allowed to collect from individuals any amount meant to be paid using SkillsFuture Credits (SFC) unless:

·        SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) had not informed the TP on the approval of the individual’s application to use SFC by course start date;

·        SSG had informed the TP on approval, but the application was cancelled thereafter; or

·        The amount of SFC approved by SSG is less than the amount the individual had indicated that he would apply to use to pay the course fees (in which case, the TP may collect the difference in amount from the individual).

Please contact SSG at 6785 5785 or through the Service Portal if you come across TPs who do not comply with the above.
