SFC is targeted at Singaporeans who have generally completed their full-time education and are in the workforce or preparing to join the workforce. It encourages working adults to invest in their continued learning journey and be active learners. SFC is just one form of support available to help Singaporeans upskill and reskill. SSG provides substantial course fee subsidies for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents to take up training. Those aged 30 and below can also tap on their Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA) to defray out-of-pocket fees for skills upgrading through approved courses by the Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), public agencies and other training partners.
