What infections are common after kidney transplant?

Common infections include: - Cytomegalovirus (CMV) - BK virus - Urinary tract infections - Pneumonia Some infections (especially CMV and BK virus) may not cause symptoms early on. Regular blood tests in the first year after transplant are important to detect these infections early and allow prompt treatment.
