When can I start seeing a dentist after my kidney transplant surgery?

Updated by SGH-TRANSPLANTPEDIA
Avoid routine dental visits for the first 6–12 months after transplant. During this period, immunosuppressive medication doses are higher, and healing after dental procedures may be slower. After this initial period, you should have regular dental check-ups every 6 months to maintain oral health and prevent complications. Do obtain a memo from your transplant physician or coordinator before your dental visit.
