What is facial synkinesis and why is it happening to me?

Updated by SGH-AHPEDIA
Synkinesis refers to involuntary unwanted movements that happen when you try to make a voluntary facial movement. For example, your eye might narrow every time you smile. This occurs as your facial nerve recovers and sometimes creates incorrect connections between muscles.
