My baby has been sleeping for 5 hours since the last feed. Should I wake them?
If this is the first time you notice a 5-hour interval, observe your baby's overall wellbeing over the next 2-3 feeds. If subsequent feeding intervals shorten, the long sleep was likely normal - possibly after cluster feeding where babies feed frequently during certain times then sleep longer. Most well babies wake when hungry. However, seek medical advice if you observe a pattern of prolonged intervals between feeds.
Feel free to approach your paediatric feeding speech therapists with your concerns as well.
