How much should my 0 month to 5-6 month old baby be drinking at each feed?
This varies greatly between babies and changes as they grow. Rather than focusing on specific amounts, watch for signs that your baby is getting enough: Appears satisfied after feeds, wets 6-8 nappies per day (with or without stools), shows appropriate weight gain on growth charts, has alert periods between feeds. For newborns, remember their stomach is tiny - just marble-sized on day one, growing to ping pong ball-sized by week two.
Feel free to approach your paediatric feeding speech therapists to find out more!
