Is "dream feeding" safe for my baby?

No, dream feeding is not recommended and lacks scientific evidence for efficacy. Babies should only be fed when sufficiently alert, demonstrating rooting reflex, and actively sucking. Feeding a baby in deep sleep by dripping milk into their mouth poses serious choking risks. Always ensure your baby is awake and responsive before offering feeds. Babies whom parents feel feed best when "dream-fed" are often babies with feeding difficulties. Feel free to approach your paediatric feeding speech therapists to find out more.
