How do I know if my baby is eating enough solids?
Focus on exposure and learning rather than quantity consumed.
Signs of adequate intake include: Continued appropriate weight gain on growth charts, interest in mealtimes and food exploration, developing feeding skills (self-feeding, chewing), regular wet nappies and normal stools.
Remember that milk (breast or formula) remains the primary nutrition source in the first year. Solids complement milk feeds rather than replace them initially. If concerned about growth or intake, discuss with your healthcare provider during regular check-ups.
