What conditions can X-rays diagnose?
X-Ray
X-rays are particularly good at detecting:
Bone problems: Fractures, breaks, dislocations, arthritis, bone infections, and bone tumours
Chest conditions: Pneumonia, lung infections, heart enlargement, fluid in the lungs, and some lung diseases
Abdominal issues: Bowel blockages, kidney stones, and some digestive problems
Other conditions: Foreign objects (like swallowed items), some tumours, and dental problems
What X-rays don't show well: Soft tissues like muscles, tendons, and ligaments are harder to see on X-rays. For these, other scans like MRI or ultrasound work better.
