Is X-ray radiation dangerous to my health?

Updated by SGH-AHPEDIA

X-rays are very safe when used for medical diagnosis. The amount of radiation is extremely small - similar to what you'd naturally receive from the environment over a few days or weeks. Modern X-ray equipment is designed to use the lowest possible radiation dose whilst still producing clear images. The medical benefits of getting an accurate diagnosis almost always outweigh the tiny radiation risk. However, please tell us if you're pregnant or might be pregnant, as we take extra precautions during pregnancy.
