What do Dietitians do?

Updated by SGH-AHPEDIA

As Dietitians, we provide evidence-based Medical Nutrition Therapy. Through this, we address specific health issues by tailoring a person's nutritional intake to achieve improved health outcomes and enhanced quality of life.

Dietitians provide dietary recommendations based on your individualised needs. This includes:

- Assessment of nutritional adequacy

- Provision of nutrition support via oral nutrition supplements, enteral nutrition and parenteral nutrition, for individuals who are not able to meet their nutritional requirements.

- Provision of dietary education and counselling for various chronic diseases and conditions
