What does it mean to "serve" the documents in a POHA matter?

Updated by SGCOURTS

After filing a Claim on CJTS, a claimant must give a copy of the court papers and all the documents filed in court to the other party (the Respondent) so they are aware of the legal action and of the allegations that the claimant intends to rely on in court proceedings. This is called "service of process." There are specified ways in which service is to be carried out under the relevant laws and rules.
