Generally, parties must present their own cases in the ECT. However, you may be represented by another person in specific circumstances.

If you meet the requirements to be represented by another person, you may file an "Application for Representative" on the Community Justice and Tribunals System to seek the ECT's approval.

In this application, you should: (1) state clearly the specific circumstances you are relying on; (2) submit proof of those circumstances; (3) state the identity of the proposed representative and how he or she is related to you; and (4) submit a letter authorising the proposed representative to act as your representative in the proceedings before the ECT.
