What happens after my Notice of Appeal is filed?
Once you have filed your Notice of Appeal, the Court will prepare the Grounds of Decision for your case. This document outlines the Judge's reasoning behind their decision. When ready, a copy of the Grounds of Decision will be sent to you or your lawyer. The time needed varies depending on the complexity of the case.
Upon receiving this document along with the Notes of Evidence, you should carefully consider whether you want to continue with your appeal. It may be beneficial to seek legal advice regarding the merits of your appeal before deciding to proceed.
