What do I do if I want to present documents?

Prepare the documents and all the evidence that you intend to rely on for your defence. You need to prepare at least 4 copies of the documents/evidence. One (the original) for the Court, one for the Prosecution, one for the witness and one for yourself.

Generally, you should also ensure that the maker of any document is in Court. Otherwise, the document may not be admitted as evidence for the trial. For instance, if you are seeking to introduce a WhatsApp message or Facebook message sent by another person, you may wish to consider calling the person as a witness, so that he can state in Court whether he was the sender of that message. Your documents should be prepared well in advance of the trial. This is particularly important as the Court may direct you (and the Prosecution) to submit these documents before the actual trial date.
