If an accused fails to attend Court or has absconded, the following actions may be taken by the Court:

  • Revocation of Bail or Personal Bond and Issuance of a Warrant of Arrest: A Warrant of Arrest will be issued against the accused to arrest and produce him/her in Court.

  • Court Appearance for Bailor to Show Cause: The bailor will be issued with a Notice to attend Court to Show Cause. If the Court is satisfied that the accused had no reasonable excuse for failing to attend Court as required, the bailor may be called upon to explain why the Court should not forfeit the bail bond.
