How is 'access' to the child/children determined?

The parent without care and control of the child (i.e., the parent that does not live with the child) may be granted access to the child.
Parents can discuss and agree on the amount of time that the child spends with the access parent. Access periods can be managed in terms of weekdays, weekends, school holidays, religious occasions, public holidays, and birthdays.
If parents are unable to come to an agreement, the court will decide on the access that should be granted. In making the access order, the court’s paramount consideration will be the welfare of the child.
It would be best to seek independent legal advice if you require advice on the merits of your case.
