Can I order food products from overseas for delivery to Singapore via courier or parcel post for private consumption? Do I need an import permit?
Permitted food products may be imported into Singapore via courier or parcel post for private consumption, subject to the prevailing limits as indicated in the List of Food & Food Products Allowed.
For quantities exceeding these limits, an import permit is required prior to the shipment arriving in Singapore. You may consider engaging a local freight forwarding agent to apply for the import permit or you may choose to do so yourself. However, the permit declaration must be made through a local declaring agent. You will also need to provide a letter of undertaking stating that the goods are not for sale, along with the relevant invoices or source.
