What are the requirements for private candidates to register for subjects at the different levels (G1, G2 and G3) for the SEC examination?
Individuals may register for the SEC examination as a private candidate if they satisfy the minimum age requirement of 15 years of age as at 1 January of the examination year. Individuals must also not be studying in Singapore Government/Government-aided/Independent/Specialised schools (e.g. Secondary Schools, Junior Colleges) during that same examination year.
Private candidates may choose the subjects and levels (i.e. G1, G2 or G3) they wish to register for based on the syllabuses that are available to them in the year of examination. Please access the SEAB website for more information before the start of the registration exercise. Private candidates will register with SEAB for the SEC, similar to the current GCE N(A)/N(T)- and O-Level examination registration.
