Will a review of results lead to results being adjusted downwards?

Should an appeal result in a change in examination results, the examination results will be adjusted accordingly.

However, we wish to emphasise that there are rigorous quality control processes and multiple independent checks put in place to ensure the accuracy of the results when they are first released. As such, the accuracy of the results has been confirmed for a vast majority of the appeals, so a change in grade after an appeal is very rare.
