What are the grades shown on my PSLE certificate?

For the subjects English Language, Mathematics, Science and Mother Tongue Language, candidates are awarded one of the following Achievement Levels (AL):

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 (AL 1 is the highest and AL 8 is the lowest)

For the subjects Foundation English Language, Foundation Mathematics, Foundation Science and Foundation Mother Tongue Language, candidates are awarded one of the following Achievement Levels (AL):

A, B or C (AL A is the highest and AL C the lowest)

Students taking Higher Mother Tongue Languages will be graded with either “Distinction”, “Merit”, “Pass” or “Ungraded” for the subject.
