What are the guidelines for registered address of a society?

  • The registered address is defined as the address of the society that is kept and maintained with the Registry of Societies as the registered address of the society. Registered societies should ensure that their registered address is updated with ROS.

  • The following addresses are prohibited from use as the society's registered address:

    • HDB flat

    • PO Box

    • Undeveloped sites, eg. Mukim Lot 8

    • Mobile premises, eg. Containers

    • Unofficial addresses, eg. Rooftops, void decks

    • Public places, eg. hawker stalls/stores

    • Embassy / High Commission

  • A letter of consent from the relevant authorities is required if the following addresses are used as the society's registered address:

    • Community Centre

    • Government agencies or statutory boards, schools and hospitals
