The demands of the A-level curriculum will be more rigorous as compared to the O-level programme. The students at RI are also actively involved in CCA and other enrichment activities.

To help students manage the demands on their time, students should select an appropriate subject combination or academic workload, as well as a moderate CCA involvement and other school activities. Academic and remedial support are provided when required.

Time is also set aside in the school calendar for interaction with peers and teachers, and for events where students can let their hair down and simply have fun.

Since 2021, Gap Day has been implemented every Wednesday to give students greater autonomy over their time. They can use this mid-week respite from scheduled lessons to rest, attend CCA sessions, consult their teachers or catch up on their schoolwork.
