PTC tracks the Public Transport Affordability Indicator (PTAI), which measures the proportion of monthly household income spent on public transport. PTC also gathers public sentiments on affordability through engagement sessions and surveys.

Over the past decade, the share of monthly household income spent on public transport has remained low and ranged from 2.4% to 3.1% for the second decile of household income (representing the lower-income commuter group) and from 1.7% to 2.2% for the second quintile of household income (representing the average commuter group).
