I have successfully updated my marital status to “Divorced”. Why do I still see my marriage record when I perform the "Search Marriage Records" on ROM's "Our Marriage Journey" portal?
Marriage records and marital status are maintained separately in the system. Your current marital status (e.g., “Divorced”) reflects your present circumstances and gets updated when changes occur. However, your marriage record represents historical data that is permanently stored in the registry database. As such, the original marriage record will continue to appear in ROM's Search Marriage Records results and can be accessed through the "Official Search for Marriage Records" service.
The "Search Marriage Records" function on ROM's "Our Marriage Journey" portal displays historical records of civil and Muslim marriages that were registered in Singapore.
