I received an email confirming that my marital status was updated. However, I am unable to find my marriage record when searching the "Our Marriage Journey" portal. What could be the reason?
Marriage records and marital status are maintained separately in our system. Your current marital status, which you can view in your Singpass profile, reflects your present circumstances and gets updated when changes occur (i.e., divorce, annulment, spousal death).
Your marriage record, however, represents historical data that is permanently stored in our registry database. The "Search Marriage Records" function on ROM's "Our Marriage Journey" portal displays historical records of civil and Muslim marriages that were registered in Singapore. If your marriage was solemnised overseas, it would not appear in ROM's marriage record search results, even though your marital status may be updated in Singpass.
