I registered my marriage/divorce overseas. Do I need to apply to update my marital status in Singpass?
It is not a legal requirement for you to update your overseas marriage/divorce in Singpass. However, if you wish to update your marital status in Singpass for ease of transacting with participating digital services using Singpass (i.e., HDB/CPFB), you can submit an online application through the 'Our Marriage Journey' portal.
Before you apply for an update, check your current marital status in the Singpass app:
Open the Singpass app.
Tap My Profile > View all.
Tap the three dots (…) at the top right, then tap Refresh Profile.
Tap Family to view your marital status.
If your marital status is not updated, visit "Update Marital Status" (https://www.marriage.gov.sg/marital-status-update) and apply under the relevant section (e.g., Overseas Marriage, Divorce/Annulment Update), as applicable.
Please ensure you have all the supporting documents listed on the portal ready for upload during the application process. You will need your Singpass account to access the portal, and you can upload your documents directly within the dashboard.
