During the Verification of documents and Declaration (V/D) appointment, a ROM officer will verify the documents, and the couple will perform the declaration in front of the officer. A marriage licence can only be issued to the couple after they have completed the V/D. 

The Verification of documents and Declaration (V/D) appointment is typically scheduled between 7 days after application date and up to 1 day before solemnisation date. For example, if you submit your marriage application on 1 December 2024 and your proposed solemnisation date is 31 December 2024, your V/D appointment date would fall between 8 December - 30 December 2024.    

Both bride and groom-to-be must attend the appointment with all relevant documents stated in the ‘Summary of Application’.
