What do I need to bring when I attend my appointment at ROMM?

When attending your appointment with ROMM, you will need to have the following documents in original:


  1. Valid NRIC or passport (passport for non-citizens) of the following parties:

    • Groom, bride and bride's Wali

    • Parents/guardian/next of kin, where applicable

  2. Deed poll, if name differs from the name in the NRIC

  3. Proof of adoption, if adopted

  4. A court issued Certificate of Divorce or Decree Nisi Absolute a.k.a Making Interim Judgement Final, if divorced (For divorce cases registered with Singapore's Syariah Court during pandemic (Mar 2020 to Nov 2022), you will need to print the softcopy Divorce Certificate and the email from Syariah Court)

  5. Death and marriage certificate of a deceased spouse, if widowed

  6. Death certificate of closest Wali (e.g father, if father is deceased)

  7. Annulment certificate, if marriage is annulled

  8. Approval letter for polygynous marriage or application without wali's consent issued by the Kadi.

  9. Conversion card for Muslim Converts (If conversion is contracted outside Singapore, the certificate should be duly endorsed by Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS))

  10. Bride's birth certificate if she has lost all contact with her Wali

  11. Rehabilitation visit card if the Wali is in a rehabilitation centre

  12. Authorisation letter or/and consent letter, if applicable

  13. The completed and signed attendance form which you will receive from your Kadi/Naib Kadi following the face-to-face meeting

    Additional documents for other nationalities:

a) Letter of approval to marry from MOM, if your future spouse is a work permit or ex-work permit holder (including Training Work Permit Holder)

b) Letter of non-impediment from the local registry of marriages/Islamic bodies for Malaysian, Indonesia and Bruneian citizens (not more than 90 days from date of solemnisation)

c) Letter from the country of origin to confirm the marital status, if single (not more than 3 months from date of issuance)


Note: Documents that are not in English / Malay language must be accompanied with its certified translation in English.


You can only change your appointment with ROMM as long as there is an available slot on our online booking system. To avoid delays to your marriage application, please avoid changing your appointment with ROMM. If for unforeseen circumstances you need to change your appointment with ROMM, please log into your marriage dashboard to perform the changes.
