Why was the promontory chosen as the location to have the extended celebration?

To allow for more Singaporeans to be part of NDP, the celebration is extended to the Promontory @ Marina Bay on 3 and 9 August. Spectators will be able to witness the fireworks, aerial and naval dynamic display, and immerse in a fun-filled carnival with streaming of the parade and live performances.
