If the registered owner of a vehicle has passed away, the administrator(s) or executor(s) of the estate of the deceased/beneficiary may apply to transfer the vehicle to his/her name using LTA's "Apply to Transfer Asset of Deceased Owner" digital service (you will be prompted to log in via Singpass).

Required Documents

  • Original or Certified True Copy of the 'Grant of Probate' with a copy of the will, or 'Letters of Administration'

  • Original motor insurance certificate in the new owner's name, covering the full period of the vehicle's road tax

Transfer Fee

A $25 transfer fee applies.

Important Notes

  • If the vehicle is under hire-purchase, you should settle all outstanding financial matters with the hire-purchase company before submitting a transfer application.

  • If the Public Trustee is assisting on the administration of the Estate, they will apply to LTA to transfer the vehicle.
