If the deceased passed on without a will and did not make a CPF nomination. Will CPF contact the next-of-kin directly or do we need to appoint an administrator ourselves?
If a member did not make a CPF nomination, upon his/her passing, his/her CPF savings will be transferred to the Public Trustee's Office (PTO) for distribution to family members under intestacy laws or inheritance laws (for Muslims).
The next-of-kin would have to apply for a grant of letters of administration and approach PTO to proceed with the distribution. PTO will charge an administrative fee for this service. You may read more here.
