Do you own or intend to buy a house? How does this 2019 Fatwa on Joint Tenancy affect you?
The 2019 Fatwa recognises the joint tenancy contract as a religiously valid contract.
Hence, Muslims who purchase real property as joint tenants do not need additional religious document (hibah ruqba or nuzriah) previously required under the 2008 Fatwa as the right of survivorship will apply.
