What is Government-Paid Maternity Leave (GPML) and what is the entitlement?

Updated by MSF

Government-Paid Maternity Leave (GPML) supports eligible working mothers, including self-employed mothers, in recovering from delivery and caring for their newborn.

Eligible mothers are entitled to up to 16 weeks of maternity leave. The Government reimburses the 9th to 16th weeks for the first two child orders, or the full 16 weeks from the third child order onwards.
