Are there situations where my LPA can be revoked even if I do not revoke it myself?

Updated by MSF

Yes, your registered LPA may be revoked if an event occurs that affects the validity of the LPA or that affects the appointment of a Donee, such as:

  • The death of the Donor or a Donee

  • The liquidation, winding up, dissolution, or judicial management of a Donee, if Donee is a corporation

  • The bankruptcy of the Donor or a Donee (this only affects the parts of the LPA relating to the Donor's property and affairs)

  • The dissolution (i.e. divorce) or annulment of the marriage between the Donor and a Donee, unless the LPA states otherwise

  • A Donee loses mental capacity
