Can Large Families Scheme benefits be backdated to support more children?
While new support measures require specific start dates, and there will inevitably be some babies born before the change, we have implemented this scheme immediately upon announcement to benefit as many children as possible.
However, children born before Budget 2025 are already receiving comprehensive support under the Marriage and Parenthood Package. They will also benefit from the one-off $500 Child LifeSG Credits announced at the Budget 2025, which will be given to all Singapore Citizen children aged 0 to 12 in 2025. Older children aged 13 to 20 in 2025 will also receive a $500 top up into their Edusave/Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA).
Additionally, large families with children born before 18 Feb 2025 may still be eligible for Large Family LifeSG Credits for the years that their third or subsequent children are aged 6 and below.
