Can I adopt a child if my spouse and I already have a child?
Yes, if you and your spouse meet the eligibility criteria.
If you wish to adopt as a sole applicant, you can only do so with your spouse’s consent as stipulated in the Adoption of Children Act 2022 s5(2)(b)(i) unless the consent of your spouse is dispensed with by the Court as stipulated in s5(2)(b)(ii).
