The Start-up Grant (SUG) is for eligible families to offset the initial costs of enrolling their children in Student Care Centres (SCCs). Children who are receiving Student Care Fee Assistance f(SCFA) for the first time and have not received start-up expenses will be eligible to apply for SUG.

SUG covers registration fee, deposit (equivalent to one month’s fee), insurance fee, and uniforms (capped at 3 days’ requirement). The maximum claim under SUG is $400 inclusive of GST if applicable.

School-based SCCs will not be eligible to claim for insurance fee, as they are required under MOE policy to bear the group insurance for children enrolled in their centres.
