How can members of the public intervene and refer troubled youths to appropriate channels for help?
Members of the public may refer troubled youths to:
1. Family Service Centres (FSCs)
Youths who require any social and emotional support, can be referred to FSCs, where Social Work Practitioners will provide case management support and coordinate holistic support for the youths and their families to help them address their issues. The nearest FSC can be located via MSF’s Directories.
2. Youth GO! Programme (YGP) agencies - Fei Yue Community Services and Care Corner Singapore Ltd
Members of the public may also share information with YGP agencies such as where these youths usually hang out at. In this way, YGP agencies can more easily locate and engage these youths. YGP supports at-risk youths aged 12 to 21 years old so that they can be meaningfully engaged in their studies or work, stay crime-free, and develop problem-solving skills.
The YGP agencies’ contact details can be found here MSF | Youth GO! Programme.
