How are LPA application fees calculated?
LPA application fee is based on (i) the residential status that you declare in your draft LPA and (ii) the prevailing fee rate when you submit the LPA to OPG.
Example: Ms Sally created her LPA Form 1 draft on 31 December 2025 and indicated that her residential status is Singapore Permanent Resident (SPR). She became a Singapore Citizen on 31 January 2026 and submitted her LPA to OPG on 1 July 2026.
When Sally submitted her LPA to OPG on 1 July 2026, her residential status in the LPA application remained as an SPR. This is because she did not update her residential status in the draft LPA, before sending to donee for acceptance. Hence, when OPG received her application, she was charged the SPR fee rate of $30.
If Sally wishes to enjoy the SC fee waiver, she should either:
change her residential status before sending her LPA to donee for acceptance; or
delete her existing draft and create a new LPA draft after becoming an SC, before submitting her application to OPG.
If Sally has already submitted her LPA using the old draft, she may choose to:
Pay the applicable LPA application fee (in this case $30); or
Withdraw the submitted LPA using the withdrawal form and submit a new application based on her updated citizenship status. She will need to re-certify her new LPA and pay for the new re-certification.
Please note that LPA application fees are non-refundable.
