If I do not go through the Pre-Marriage Long-Term Visit Pass Assessment (PMLA), can I still get married?

Yes, your prospective spouse and you can still get married. However, being married to a Singapore Citizen does not guarantee a non-resident spouse the right to entry or long-term stay in Singapore. If you and your non-resident spouse intend to reside in Singapore for the long term, your spouse must hold either a valid immigration pass or work pass.  Hence, you are encouraged to submit the PMLA before marriage to assess your prospective spouse’s eligibility for Long-Term Visit Pass. This helps your prospective spouse and you to better plan for your future.
