For youths who are beyond parental control, how does the Court assess and decide whether to place the child in the Home?

Updated by MSF
Before the Court places the child in the Home, a counsellor from either Singapore Children’s Society or Epworth Community Service will arrange for the parent and child to complete a mandatory family programme.Once completed, the agency willmake recommendations to the Court on intervention options. The Court may then decide to put the child under a Statutory Supervision Order, where a counsellor will supervise the parent and the child, or admit the child into a closed institution like Singapore Girls’ Home/Singapore Boys’ Home.
