I am currently overseas. How can I open a Child Development Account (CDA) for my child?
From 1 Jul 2024, all parents can only apply for Baby Bonus Scheme at LifeSG through:
• Bundled service together with child’s birth registration (https://www.life.gov.sg/services/birth-registration)
• Direct application for child whose birth has already been registered (https://www.life.gov.sg/services/baby-bonus)
For bank selection:
DBS/POSB and OCBC
You must be their existing customer with an active account to open the CDA through their online banking portal or mobile app.UOB
You don't need to be an existing customer with an active account. However, if you are a Singapore Citizen with overseas address or foreigner, you must visit a UOB branch in person with your Letter of Authorisation (LOA) issued by LifeSG to complete the process.
You will be notified by the bank when the CDA is opened.
