Can an employer reject my infant care leave application for work reasons?
You are entitled to take 12 days of unpaid infant care leave during the 12-month relevant period mutually agreed upon between you and your employer. You and your employer should reach an agreement on when those days are to be taken, keeping in mind work schedules and deadlines.
If you are taking infant care leave for matters that can't be postponed, like immunisations and medical appointments, your employer is strongly encouraged to grant you leave.
