Is an employee who absents oneself immediately before or after the holiday without reason, but works on the holiday entitled to the holiday pay?

An employee is not entitled to the holiday pay which is already included in the monthly gross salary. The employer can therefore deduct one day’s pay at the gross rate for the holiday pay from the employee’s monthly gross salary. However, the employer has to pay the employee one day’s pay at the basic rate of pay for working on the public holiday.
