Can a factory begin operations without notification or registration?

Workplaces defined as factories under the WSH Act need to be registered or notified with MOM, if required under the WSH (Registration of Factories) Regulations.

Where the requirement applies, operating a factory without notifying or registering is punishable by a fine of up to $5,000.
